În ultimele luni au apărut noi nume românești pe cer, în centura de asteroizi.
Câțiva asteroizi au primit nume de români, de persoane din domeniul astronomiei profesioniste și de amatori, de profesori și unul al unui regizor francez de origine română (Radu Mihăileanu).
Toți asteroizii în afară de unul au fost descoperiți în cadrul programului de observații EURONEAR.

National College Petru Rareş in Piatra Neamţ. Excelling in astronomical education, he
organized two International Astronomy Olympiads. Since 2010, his pupils have gained 75
national prizes, while other Romanian pupils trained by him gained 100 international
medals.

Matei Conovici (b. 1978) is a Romanian amateur astronomer and software engineer. In
2011 he built his Ostrov Observatory, a roll-off dome used mainly for astrophotography,
then helped two friends to build theirs. He participated in the EURONEAR SuprimeCam
data mining project.

Pal Varadi Nagy (b. 1985) is a Hungarian-Romanian software engineer and amateur
astronomer, writer and former radio presenter. A sidewalk astronomer guiding public
stargazing events, astrophotographer and host of a radio show about astronomy, Pal
published an atlas of full disk spectroheliograms based on his observations made in Cluj-
Napoca.

Ioan Mircea Corpodean (b. 1938) is a Romanian electrician and amateur astronomer. A
member and past president of the Victor Anestin astroclub, he performed outreach
activities at the Dealu Alunis private observatory such as public sidewalk stargazing and
gave talks at the Municipal Culture House.

Vasile Chirila (b. 1959) is a Romanian amateur astronomer. Founder and president of
the Astronomical and Nautical Association AstroNauticus, he has participated in stargazing

Astronavigația de la gnomon și astrolab la sextantul Apollo.

Napoca. Vice-president of two national astroclubs, he is active in public outreach and

astrophotography exhibitions, workshops, educational events and donating refurbished
telescopes.

and variable stars, in both optical and radio domains.

and was a special guest at conferences, writing 30 books and about 3000 articles.
